MOTIVATION

I feel very motivated at work or anywhere else when I can share with people great times or experiences, whether caused by a work that I have done, some help given or something I have said that would maybe not exactly change the day of the others but aroused feelings or motivations for a needed action. I believe that we have a very powerful skill that is the communication and even tough not so many people have the highest abilities with it there is always time to improve it in order to collaborate with the environment where we are inserted and the development of the people around. Motivation comes from recognition of the efforts we put on something in order to generate results and the results are achieved by someone that wants to be seen, observed, recognized. That is the way I focus my professional life, always aiming on generate results expected and working hard to get there. And if needed motivating and bringing my team with me. Material stuff helps a lot to improve most of the people’s motivation because everybody likes to enjoy small pleasures that can be rewards for the dedication applied on the activities we are working on. Sometimes a great salary rise is what we want but sometimes a bottle of wine is already enough to make the day finish happier and stimulating the vigour for the next day. Challenges does motivate me a lot and I have had proved it to myself when I decided to move to another country for an exchange. It was a complete life changing and restarting from the very beginning but every time I faced something new it made me more motivated to keep on trying until I become successful. Same thing happened when I started a graduation in another language, in this case, in English. The challenges are constantly appearing, and we need to be prepared to deal with them. Since when I was a child, I felt motivated by the challenges. Maybe because I was naturally a shy and quiet kid sometimes I faced situations where I had to practice communication or even my body language and I clearly remember how hard it was but for all the time I broke barriers like those I had a sensation of victory like winning a great competition against myself and it was way pleasurable. To really feel motivated, we must have guaranties that we are going to get rewards for our dedication. It makes a lot of difference on the much of effort we going to put to work harder and feel happy, feel part of the team or of the spaces where we are. We need to have expectations because they are the goals we will want to achieve and that’s why we must to be always motivated. For me motivation is like the gas in a car and to move on the car needs to be full filled otherwise it stops.

IKIGAI

Arts and audiovisual always attracted me since very young. Despite I was and stil am a little bit shy the stages were a safe place for me. While most of my friends were sports people I was inserted on the arts activities at school. I sang in a choir, teathre classes, juggling and circus classes. Later in the college my first degree was like a dream coming true, I studied television and it was kind magic. The total satisfaction started when I became art teacher and had the space and attention to teach everything was great for me for the others.

Reflection

There are somethings I believe we need to focus our attention to keep our freedom, starting from our choices until our beliefs. I started understanding myself after stopping to follow always what was said to me to do or just after trying to break some common habits that were passed to me by generation. I will try to be clearer about that: Starting from a polemic point like God. My relationship with God became so much easier since I understood or established to myself that God is not what the church says to us like a superior being that will help or punish us if we follow or not what he/she says. I got the conclusion that God is me or is you or anyone else and the only thing we need to follow to make the world fair is to respect the limits of the others. The punishment, in case we are going to have it, will not to be anywhere else but here. It is supposed to be here and so it drives me through a way where I do not believe in hell as I do not believe in heaven. It is like my grandmother used to say: what goes around, comes around. And will not to be after. It will always be now. And sometimes the now takes longer than we want. That way to see the life is, for me, fairer and establish that we need to mind the ones around us, that we have responsibilities over our actions and reactions. Acquiring this self-knowledge turned me a person with higher ability – than before - of comprehension of the others round me because once I know this individuality I can not to expect from the others to act as I would do. I can not as well to punish someone with my own hands. Each one knows your own and must be sure that when acting after someone reactions can be expected and depending on the content of our action it can to be nice or not. It all helped me to grow up a lot more comparing to what I was before with not creating expectations on the others and the world and always find on me the motivation to face the challenges we have every day and so suffering less with what I can not to control as people`s actions. It as well unblocked on me an ability of not to be afraid to speak when it is needed and to impose what I want when things can catch me up. It made a more individual and maybe this feeling got stronger after leaving my hometown and the proximity with my parents and friends and everything what I was used with.

Academic Writing 

The following extract is part of an production for the Marketing Perspective lecture in 2022. [...] 4.2.Target audience Once we have our target market defined and our audience segmented, we can understand that each segment requires a different marketing strategy. In our case we have the Brazilian consumer and the Irish consumer and those of other nationalities. Bearing in mind that we have about 70,000 Brazilians residing in Ireland (BBC News Brazil, 2022), it’s a good number of segments to invest in due to the high amount of people that are already familiar with the product and who are strong candidates to become consumers. To the Brazilian public, our differential will be the quality of the product. By consuming Mr. Corn the customer will bring out their affective memories, the smell and taste of the product will remind them of the moments with family and friends, this is because corn-based foods are very traditional in Brazil, which increases the chances of the Brazilian consumer have had good experiences when eating the product during their period of residence in their home country and now they have the chance of experiencing the same moments again by consuming Mr. Corn products. For the Irish public and other nationalities, the difference will be the quality of the product and the innovative flavour, presenting them with a new way of consuming corn. The Mr Corn launching will start with the opening of it`s kiosks in tram/dart and Luas stations and also in shopping centres where people will be able to order to grab and go eating their food. Identified with the logo on the top front and it will be a place that will refer to a countryside storehouse. In the kiosks customers will find Pamonha, baked corn cake, corn juice and Cural, and to complement the meal, coffee to match with the sweet foods or soft drink that are a good match with the savoury ones will also be available. How are we going to inform about us to our different segments? The relationship with the customer and the communication that our brand and product will be launched will happen before the kiosks are installed in their respective locations. We will make use of social media, web pages, and we will also communicate through traditional marketing, banners, folders, radio and TV ads. Social media Our first step towards promoting Mr. Corn is the creation of an account with the name of the company on Instagram and Facebook, publicizing the start date of the activities of the kiosks, with posts relating to the presentation of products, menu and prices. The opening of these accounts on social media is intended to show the general public what is to come and what they can expect from our brand's products; Still related to Instagram and Facebook, frequent posts will be made to keep the algorithms in our favor and through that our posts will be distributed to more social media users. These posts will be videos (reels) showing the preparation of our and which products are used to make them. Other videos will also be posted telling the story of Mr. Corn, focused on showing the preparation of Pamonha in Brazil, from the corn harvest to the final product. [...]
